BUDGAM,
SEPTEMBER 8: On the instructions of District Development Commissioner
Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, District Disaster Management Authority Budgam
today conducted a daylong disaster management training cum workshop at Boys
Higher Secondary School Chadoora.
The training cum
workshop regarding the disaster management preparedness as one among the series
of programmes to be organized in different parts of the district was held in
collaboration with district administration.
Among others, the
daylong program was attended by District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO),
Budgam, Prince Noor ul Hameed, faculty of teaching staff besides huge gathering
of students, NGOs, Volunteers from Civil Defence.
It was aimed to impart
firsthand training from experienced disaster management volunteers as how to
tackle the initial emergency during any disaster or calamity.
Speaking on the
occasion, the DDMO said these workshops are aimed to create awareness and steps
of preparedness for immediate response towards different natural and manmade
disasters to mitigate the loss of life and property.
Stressing on the
larger participation, he urged upon the students to evolve themselves fully and
remain fully prepaid with their participation in these programmes and mock
drills for the prompt and swift response to minimize the damages to the large
extent.
On the conclusion, a mock drill from trained volunteers from disaster
management including students was done demonstrating various methods/ measures
how to tackle the situation in any emergency occurring through natural as well
as manmade disasters.
