Mela, Sabhas to be organized soon
RAJOURI,
SEPTEMBER 13: In order to review the preparedness for the nationwide
sanitation campaign, 'Swachhta Hi Seva', a meeting of district and sectoral
officers was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner,
Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today here at Dakbanglow Rajouri.
The meeting was
informed that a fortnight sanitation campaign under 'Swachhta Hi Seva' shall be
launched on September 15thacross the district which will culminate on 2nd
October, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. The sanitation derive would be launched
simultaneously at District, Subdivision and Block levels.
It was further
informed that the aim of the campaign is to reinforce the concept of sanitation
at mass level where Panchayats and Municipal Bodies, Government employees,
Anganwari workers, public representatives, school children, social workers,
organizations and citizens will be actively participating.
The DDC urged
upon the officers to formulate action plan highlighting daily calendar to make
the campaign a success. The District Panchayat Officer, Dr Abdul Khabir, who is
the nodal officer for the sanitation drive, was asked to coordinate with
different department for effective implementation.
The DDC asked the
concerned officers to plan activities in such a manner that will generate
interest in the sanitation drive. He also asked them to arrange quiz and
painting competitions, symposiums and debates in schools at the district and
Tehsil level on 'Swachhta Hi Seva’ theme.
The DDC further
instructed that the progress of all the cleanliness drives initiated by various
departments should be communicated to his office on daily basis and shall be
given a wide publicity.
The meeting also
decided to organise a Mega Swachhta Mela and Swachhta Sabhas in the district to
aware the people about the sanitation.
It was further
informed that the drives would be held to clean water bodies, khuls, parks,
roads, schools, hospitals and special focus shall be laid on the cleaning of
tourist and historic places.
The RDD officials
were directed to sensitize the village health and sanitation committees about
the drive for maximum participation.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,
Sunderbani, Nowshera Kalakote, District Programme Officer Rajouri, CMO Rajouri,
CEO Rajouri, Chief Executive Officer Rajouri, SDMs, Principals, Block
Development Officers, Child Development Project Officers and ZEOs of different
zones.
