BUDGAM, MAY 2: Deputy Commissioner
Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik today inaugurated a daylong awareness cum
screening camp about National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer,
Diabetes, CVDs and Strokes here at DC office Budgam.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Farooq Dar, Chief Medical Officer Dr GM
Dar Medical Superintendent District Hospital Budgam Dr Deeba also attended the
programme.
On the
occasion, District NCD Cell Budgam held a free medical camp, where doctors
checked scores of patients and provided free medicines to them.

Budgam, Dr GM Dar said that the programme has been recently started in the
district. He said there are two cells, one working at district hospital Budgam
and another at Sub-District hospital Chadoora with requisite staff under this
programme.

said that the aim of the today’s awareness camp is to spread awareness and
screening of people regarding non-communicable and old age diseases, so that
people can change their lifestyle and the elements of BP, diabetes and CVDs and
are diagnosed and rechecked to be treated earliest to decrease the death due to
these diseases.
He said that such programmes would be organized in every part of
the district to take the campaign and related health services to people at their
doorsteps.
