New Delhi, Apr 13: President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday greeted the nation on the eve of Baisakhi, Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Naba Barsha, Vaisakhadi, Puthandu Pirappu which are being celebrated on April 14 and 15 in parts of the country.
``These festivals symbolise the importance and respect given to hard work in our tradition,’’ he said.
``Celebrated in various ways in different parts of the country these festivals reflect India’s diversity and pluralistic traditions. They highlight the unity and understanding so characteristic of our social ethos,’’ he said.
On the occasion, the President urged people to resolve to work hard for peace and prosperity and spread the message of unity, fraternity and progress of the nation. UNI
