Mar 06: Election to three Notified Area Councils (NAC) – Hindol, Atabira
and Nuapada would be held on April 3 next as the term of these councils will be
over on April 12 next.
State Election Commissioner Naba Kumar Naik told newspersons here on Tuesday
that as per the election schedule the authorities of the concerned NACs would
issue notification for the election on March 9 next.
Filing of nomination papers would be held from March 13 to 17 and scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on March 19 next.
The list of eligible candidates would be published on March 20 and the last date of withdrawal of candidates is slated on March 22 next.
The final list of contesting candidates would be published on March 22 and the election would be held on April 3 next.
Counting of votes would be taken on April 5 and the results would be declared on the same day. Altogether 42 councilors will be elected from these three NACs.
The elections to the posts of NAC Chairman and Deputy Chairman would be held on April 12 and 30 respectively.
The model code of conduct in the three NAC would be in force from March 6 to April 5, Mr Naik said. UNI
