Mar 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered
contraband from him in the summer capital, Srinagar.
A police spokesperson said that following specific information about
transportation of drugs, a checkpoint was established near Mominabad in
Batamaloo, Srinagar.
He said police intercepted a vehicle at the checkpoint and during checking recovered 65 bottles of codeine phosphate. “The driver of the vehicle, identified as Shoib Mohammad Pandith, was immediately taken into custody,” he said.
Police have registered a case and initiated investigation to nab other people involved in drug trafficking, he added. UNI
