State Govt to facilitate licenses for luxury taxis outside Gatidhara

Kolkata, Oct 6: The West Bengal Transport Department has decided to start re-issuing licenses for luxury taxis outside the Gatidhara Scheme. According to Transport Department officials, this would have multiple benefits – providing employment to youths, increasing the number of luxury taxis, and, through the latter, indirectly, ensure that the app-based taxis do not indulge in unnecessary surge pricing, something which causes a lot of problems for commuters.
