Jammu, Apr 11 : Keeping In view the lock down situation in Jammu District, J&K State Legal Services Authority, in compliance to the directions of Executive Chairman J&K SLSA Justice Rajesh Bindal and under the guidance of Member Secretary MK Sharma today launched a campaign to ensure that nobody is without meals or any other necessities of life.
In this regards, Member Secretary J&K SLSA deputed functionaries of DLSA Jammu to visit Gho Manhasan, Gole Gujral, Machine Domana, Qasim Nagar, Talab Tillo, Janipur, Ban Talab and slums around Industrial areas of Kunjwani and Gangyal to review the measures being taken by the District Administration to contain the spread of the Corona Virus infection with respect to the housing, sanitation, health care of the labourers from Uttrakhand, Chattisgarh, UP, Bihar and Orissa who are working in un-organized sector.
J&K SLSA, in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Red Cross, Police and Local Administration besides Sarpanches and Panches in the rural areas of the Jammu District, distributed 3500 masks, Medical kits, Ration items, Vegetables, Fruits, Sanitizers to more than 350 families. People were also educated to conduct their behavior and habits as per the guidelines/advisories issued by the Health department and State Government in letter and spirit.
They were appealed to strictly practice social distancing, cleanliness, hygiene to keep their surrounding disinfected and sanitized, staying at home and to avoid all non essential travels/contacts so that the chain of the transmission of the Corona Virus infection can be broken.
To appreciate the relentless efforts of Para Military Forces, CRPF, SSB and J&K Police personals in serving the people under Corona Virus threat and sanitation problems being faced by field workers of Jammu Municipality, Secretary DLSA Jammu, Naushad Ahmed Khan distributed fruits, portable drinking water, sanitizers packs, disinfectants to them.
On Social and Electronic media, DLSA is continuously creating awareness among the masses, on how to flatten the curve of the Corona Virus infection. During the lock down period, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Jammu have attended and provided counseling to more than 7000 Callers.
