Leh, July 2  :    A workshop was organized by the District Administration, Leh in coordination with NIC Leh in the Conference Hall of DC Office Leh as part of Digital India Anniversary celebration to showcase the success stories/achievements and progress made in four years since the launch of the Digital India initiative on 1st July 2015.

The concept of Digital India is to promote efficiency and transparency in delivery of Government services and working for the welfare of the citizen.

A brief presentation on Digital India initiatives viz. DigiLocker, Jeevan Pramaan, BHIM UPI, Umang, MyGov, etc. was presented to give an overview of the Digital India and highlight the importance of promoting e-governance. It was said that the initiative reduces the government-citizen digital gap.

Later similar event was also organized in Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh in coordination with the CSC.

During the event, it was highlighted that new generation has to be essentially computer literate in order to be relevant in the new development trend and mentioned that our country is fast moving in the e-governance regime wherein the public services are delivered electronically.

Principal, Government Boys Higher Secondary School has requested NIC and CSC to conduct more such events in the field of Information Technology for spreading awareness and effectively deliver the message of Digital India to the citizens in general and to their parents in particular through the students.

Punchok Paldan, DIO NIC, Nabi Tak, Asstt Labour Commissioner, Sonam Wangchuk, Principal, BHSS Leh, Tashi Tondup, ADIO NIC, Miss Tsering Angmo, District Manager, CSC Leh and VLEs were present on the occasion and More than 100 students have took part in the event.
