Lucknow, Oct 12 (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force Friday arrested three members of a gang for selling fake tickets in connivance with the state roadways buses.
The gang was operating in Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras and Sadabad routes, police said.
Ashok, Surjeet and Amit were arrested from Iglas area of Aligarh, they said, adding that they confessed to the crime.
The three told police that they operated with the help of some officials and employees of the department.
The field unit of Agra STF had arrested 11 drivers, conductors and bouncers on August 21.
They told police that they used to give photocopy of the actual tickets to the passengers travelling in about 30 buses on Mathura-Aligarh and Agra-Aligarh routes, sources said.
Against 100 passengers who used to travel in the bus on one side, only 20 to 25 were given actual tickets while the rest were given photocopy and those raising objections were dealt by bouncers accompanying the driver and conductors.
The monthly share of earnings were being passed on to the officials and employees of the corporation.
Further interrogations are on, the police said.
