Appreciates the Governors'decision for holding elections
Jammu, Sept 10: BJP spokesperson, former minister and MLA Priya Sethi today
said Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is for decentralisation of powers in Jammu and
Kashmir State by holding elections to local bodies besides Panchayats only to
empower people and make them partners in taking decisions about development of
their local areas.
She welcomed the decision taken by the Governor of the state for
holding these elections and said that this is what people of all their regions
of state including Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu had also been advocating and
preparing for.
Priya Sethi said this while visiting newly repaired pre primary
Govt school ward no 2,Julkha Mohalla Jammu which was earlier clubbed
with another school but on public demand Priya Sethi took the initiative for re
opening of school for pre classes for which people praised her efforts.
While speaking to media she said that Governor Sat Pal Malik’
decision is appreciable who as per news reports has said that the Government
Will go ahead with Municipal and Panchayat elections and declared
that all contestants, polling booths and officials, will be provided full
security cover by the State not only during but even after the polls.
All BJP ruled state have held local body polls and even that of
Panchayats without any hitch just because it intends to establish three-tier
system of governance in entire country where powers get decentralised and
people decide their own fate.
She said that Once the Municipal Corporations and Panchayats are
in place this will bring peace prosperity and development in the state.
She said that the Pakistani games attempted to be played against
this country is getting more and more exposed & the situation has now
controlling and those parties who oppose it are anti people and they are scared
they will lose elections and Instead of opposing elections they should support
the local elections so that people will take the benefit of development and
grants.
Criticising those against these polls, Priya Sethi said the
state is losing crores of grants if these elections will not be held
as soon as possible.
Those parties like NC, PDP who are opposing polls to
local bodies and Panchayats are scared of losing ground. They even don’t want
to decentralise powers and are also inimical to peace in Jammu and
Kashmir, She said.
Priya said that Panchayat elections in itself is a challenge to
anti India, Pro Pakistani and extreme fundamentalist elements and those who
want to oppose it.
She further said that these elections will not only give local
democratic setup it will give empowerment of women and their getting elected in
turn means improvement in the perceptions of the women in the society as
economic empowerment to women help them take decisions regarding
infrastructural development of the area.
The panchyat elections were last held in 2011 and and five year
term has ended on 2016 so now we should support the local elections
for the development and BJP government led by Modi is always
supporting the development as it works on the mantra "Sabka Saath Sabka
Vikas"She added
Priya Sethi said that BJP workers are ready to go to
people as they had been working for their well-being by all means. The
programmes and policies of BJP led government at the centre are aimed at
empowering people and giving then their due share.
