‘Swachhta hi Seva’ observed at Gandhinagar Hospital
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER
15: Member Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas today
said that Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) has been a historic drive, lead by Prime
Minister, which has been producing extraordinary results on ground especially in
rural areas where open defecation and sanitation has been a problem for the
years together.
The MP was speaking
during cleanliness drive under ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ programme at Government
Hospital, Gandhinagar. He was accompanied by MLA, Kavinder Gupta besides other
civil volunteers and officials from JMC.
Manhas informed that about 09 cr
toliets have been built under SBM and more than 20 states have been declared as
open defecation free including Jammu & Kashmir.
In continuance to
the Swachh Bharat Mission throughout the country, a mission of all-round
cleanliness lead has got yet another pace with a boom to be more practical and
precise so as to fulfil the dream of complete sanitation and open defecation
free, the MP maintained.
He further said that the contribution and role of civil societies, NGOs
and most importantly the common masses who has made it as much as successful
which is being applauded and appreciated on international platforms throughout
the world.
