KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 07: Motor Vehicles Department has realized Rs 5.26 crore at its check posts along Punjab-J&K Border at Nagri, Goondh and Korepunnu till August end this year  .
As per RTO Kathua, the revenue  includes collection of Passenger tax, Entry Tax, fine on account of overloading besides other violations under various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act .
Meanwhile, Regional Transport Officer Kathua, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa accompanied by ARTO, Er. Kuldeep Singh and Motor Vehicle Inspector,  Kamal Kumar conducted  inspection of these check posts   and took stock of their functioning.
 During the inspection tour, Motor Vehicle Traffic Assistant Kulbhushan Singh Slathia was placed under suspension by the RTO for dereliction of duties and another official was repatriated to his parent department J&K State Road Transport Corporation.
