Municipal Polss-2018: DEO Anantnag reviews preparedness

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 20: The District Election Officer, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today reviewed the arrangements to be made for the conduct of Urban Local Bodies Elections – 2018 in the Anantnag district for which the State Election Commission has issued a notification. The Local Bodies Elections will be conducted in 4 phases i.e. on 08 October 2018, 10 October 2018, 13 October 2018 and 16 October 2018.

The Municipal Committee Elections for 1^st Phase will be held for the Municipal Committees of Achabal, Kokernag & Qazigund, while as for the 2^ndphase Municipal Committee Elections will be held for MC, Anantnag and Municipal Committee, Bijbehara. The elections for the 3^rd Phase will be conducted for the Municipal Committees of Mattan, Pahalgam, Ashmuqam & Seerhamdan. In 4^th Phase the ULB Elections will be held for the Municipal Committees of Dooru & Verinag for the conduct of the elections of the Urban Local Bodies. 27 ROs have been designated.

Threadbare discussions were made in the meeting chaired under the DEO, Anantnag (District Development Commissioner, Anantnag) at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal. In the meeting, the various matters with regard to SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation), transport magisterial duty and security action plan were also discussed.  

The meeting was attended by both ADCs, District Dy. Election Officer, Anantnag, all ROs, AROs, Sectoral & Zonal Magistrate & other officers of district Administration.
