RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER
17: Labour Department today organized awareness camps at various
construction sites here in Gool area to make the labourers aware about the
labour laws and various welfare schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other
Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) meant for them.
While interacting
with the construction workers Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Rakesh Arora
stressed upon them to avail maximum benefits from the government schemes meant
for the welfare of their families. He also highlighted other schemes being
executed by the Department.
He said that the
Labour Department and JKBOCWWB are working in tandem for the development and
welfare of the labour class.
He further
said that the labour class is the backbone for development and government is
prioritizing their welfare.
He informed that
for the education of wards of workers an assistance of Rs 2500 to Rs 10000 is
being provided for lower education, Rs 15000 for post-graduation, Rs 30000 for
diploma courses and Rs 50000 for professional courses.
He advised the workers to get themselves registered to avail the maximum
benefits of the schemes of the board. The Department also provides assistance
of Rs 1 lakh to the registered construction workers suffering from chronic
diseases, he added.
