Jammu, Sept 14: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta on Friday conducted an extensive visit to the interiors of Raipur Satwari area, and reviewed the status of public amenities available to the public..
Taking note of necessary interventions required to upgrade the basic infrastructure in the locality including constructions of lanes, drains, roads, drinking water and other concerned departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta informed the locals that many works earlier brought to his notice have either been completed and for the remaining works codal formalities have been completed and soon the work shall start. For some works detailed project reports are being prepared for execution. He said that a carefully calculated plan is being chalked out for phase by phase public infrastructure development of the area.
The execution of these projects will be meticulously carried out in a phased and time-bound manner, he added. For his, he directed the concerned agencies to conduct a detailed feasibility report in accordance with the topography, other factors to ensure durability, longevity of the works being undertaken.
He also urged Rural Development, PWD, PHE and other departments to regularly interact with locals, local representatives to gauge the on ground performance of their respective departments and to keep channels of communication open for public. He stressed Govt. officers for reaching out to public for all the Government schemes of socio economic aspects, development, agricultural and all other fields so that they can be benefitted to the optimum level.
Locals also appreciated the efforts of the Kavinder Gupta and expressed their gratitude for taking up their pending demands time to time, on priority and also brought some other issues to his notice for early disposal. Gupta was accompanied by Baldev Blowria, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary, Kehar Singh, Hans Raj among others
Later Kavinder Gupta also handed over TVS Wego Scooty to Shashi Bala S/O Rattan Lal area of the Gandhi Nagar Constituency. The provision of such type of scooters to the physically challenged persons is covered through Social welfare department by State Rehabilitation Council. While Congratulating the beneficiary on the occasion Gupta said that Govt. is focused on empowering all citizens and create an inclusive environment for differently able people so that they can work normally in the society and live a dignified life with respect and honour. ''The aim of the government is to help these people grow into self-reliant, independent individuals''. He said all other applicants of the area who have submitted their case for the motorised easy drive scooters shall be sanctioned soon. He directed District Social Welfare Officer Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal who was present on the occasion, to fast track the process.
