KUPWARA,
SEPTEMBER 05: Department of Animal Husbandry Kupwara conducted a training
programme for members of women self-help groups engaged in dairy farming. These
self-help groups have been established by National Livestock Mission in various
parts of the district and are engaged in various activities including dairying.
During the
training programme, various aspects of dairy farming like selection of cows,
management, feeding, disease control, clean milk production and its marketing
were highlighted.
As traditionally women folk are associated with rearing and care of
livestock at domestic level. This training programme will go a long way in
ensuring benefits to these women in scientific rearing of animals, besides
focus was given also on some diseases of zoonotic nature and necessary precautions
to be taken to prevent their transmission.
