KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 10: District
Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, convened a meeting here
today to review the implementation of PM's overarching ‘Poshan Abhiyan’
scheme for ensuring holistic nourishment of children, pregnant women and
lactating mothers.
The objective of
the scheme is to reduce stunting in identified areas with the highest
malnutrition burden by improving utilization of key Anganwari services and
improving the quality of Anganwari services delivery.
The DDC, on the
occasion, impressed upon the officers to be proactive and ensure strict
implementation of the scheme under which poor children, lactating mothers,
expecting mothers and adolescent girls will be covered. He urged officers
to work in coordination and put in concerted efforts to achieve the targets
with missionary mode.
He also impressed
upon the officers to complete the survey within one week positively,
for which he directed to utilize the services of Anganwari workers, health
workers, ASHA workers and VLWs.
The meeting
discussed threadbare the modalities for implementation of Poshan Abhiyan scheme
in the district.

Development Yaar Ali Khan, Programme Officer ICDS Rashida, CEO, District Mass
Education Officer Health and Family Welfare, BMOs, CDPO's and other concerned
attended the meeting.
