JAMMU, AUGUST 27: Five-day
workshop on Post-NAS Activities and Demonstration of Science and Mathematics
Kits, being sponsored by Directorate of Smagra Shiksha J&K and organized by
SIE Jammu, commenced today here at Teachers Bhawan Auditorium, Gandhi Nagar
Jammu. The workshop was inaugurated by State Project Director, SmagraSikhsha
J&K, Tufail Mattoo.
Conducted under
the overall supervision of Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal, SIE Jammu, J K
Sudan, all the Chief Education Officers, Principal DIETs and Zonal education
Officers of Jammu Division participated in the workshop on its commencing day.
During his
address, Mattoo informed about the findings of NAS National Achievement Survey
viz-a-viz performance of students of the state and exhorted upon all
stakeholders to brainstorm and think upon the pedagogical interventions to
improve the overall teaching learning scenario in J&K.
Director School
Education Jammu, Rakesh Kumar Sarangal, also spoke on the occasion and stressed
on applying the diagnosis done by National Achievement Survey about the health
of the education system as basis for remedial measures and interventions at the
classroom level to achieve the academic excellence.
Pertinently, the
National Achievement Survey 2017 has been conducted in terms of learning
outcomes rather than content and under the agies of MHRD; GOI is planning the
post NAS intervention to improve the education system throughout the country
especially at Elementary Level.
The resource
persons from NCERT, New Delhi including Dr Satya Bhushan and Dr Vishal Pajankar
held a daylong session on NAS District and State Report Cards.
Interactive session was also held with the participants whereas Research
Officer SIE Jammu, Coordinator NAS, Deepak Sharma conducted the proceedings.
