Raipur, Aug 17: Three young men were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on rammed into a divider and then hit a roadside electric pole in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh today, police said.
The mishap took place this morning when the victims had gone for a ride on a motorcycle in the Naya Raipur area, around 25km from here, a local police official told.
The deceased, all students, were identified as Parmanand Sahu, Praveen Garg and Arpit Nath, aged 20-21 years, he said.
As per preliminary information, the three were triple riding the motorcycle at a high speed. The rider lost control over the vehicle following which it skidded.
They were dragged for around 50 meters before hitting the divider and then the electric pole that left them dead on the spot, he said.
Of the deceased, two belonged to Kanker, while the third one hailed from Rajim town in Gariaband district. They were studying in different colleges in Raipur and Bhilai, he said.
After being informed about the accident, a police team reached the spot and shifted the bodies for post-mortem, the official added. (PTI)
