BUDGAM,
AUGUST 7: A one-day orientation awareness programme on national
de-worming was organized at town hall Budgam by the Department of Health
Budgam.
The programme was
inaugurated by the District development Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish
Asgar in presence of CMO Budgam Dr. G. M. Dar, DHO Dr. A. G. Raina and other
dignitaries.
Speaking on the
occasion Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar said that aim of this workshop is to aware the
masses about how to safeguard and protect our society, children from getting
affected due to worm infections.
She urged for
involving services of teachers, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, NGOs to
conduct awareness programmes at rural level.
Earlier in his
welcome address and overview of the workshop, the CMO Budgam Dr. G. M. Dar
said, among population of 7-5 lakh of the district about 2.99 lakh.
Children aging 1 to 19 years i.e 40% of population has been targeted to be
administered the Albendazole tablets free of cost during the prescribed period.
The tablets will be kept available in all schools, Anganwadi centers for the
left-out children who could not be de- wormed at the 10th of
August shall be administered tablets on mop-up day i.e. 17th of
August 2018.
The day long orientation programme was also attended by all ZEOs, BMOs,
CDPOs, Anganwadi/Aasha workers and many NGOs.
