Director reviews implementation of social welfare schemes

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 01: Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Mohammad Qasim Wani convened a meeting to review Social Welfare schemes here today.

The Director stressed upon the officers of the department to identify the deserving beneficiaries while surveying so that the benefit goes to the most deserving. He instructed the officers to do the baseline survey and employ the latest techniques so that the pace of survey is accelerated.

District Social Welfare Officer, Anantnag Dr. Peerzada Farhat detailed about the achievements of the department under various welfare schemes.  

The meeting was informed that under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) 27813 beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 27245 achieved, while as under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) 9229 beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 8870 achieved so far. Similarly, under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS) Rs. 48.375 lacs, Rs.78.40 lacs, Rs.46.80 lacs & Rs.65.60 lacs have been received under Phase-I, II, III & IV respectively, while as under the Contributed Security Scheme (CSS), 450 beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 378 achieved so far.

Likewise, other schemes of the department were also reviewed and the chair was informed that all such schemes are at different stages of execution.
