PULWAMA, AUGUST 16: District Development Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar,
today made an extensive tour of Pulwama and inspected different projects in the
District.
Assistant Commissioner Development Mir Munawar, Chief Horticulture
Officer A.K Kotwal, Executive Engineer REW andother officials of the
concerned Departments accompaniedthe District Development Commissioner.
DDC first inspected the High-density apple orchard at TakiyaWagam and
sought views from the farmers about this new horticulture technology.
While addressing to the farmers, DDC applauded them for their dedication
and hard work in horticulture sector, despite facing several challenges. He
urged farmers to avail the benefit from schemes of providing high-density apple
trees to the farmers by Horticulture Department to improve the brand image of JK
fruits and to undertake rigorous marketing in the national market.
DDC also visited Newa and dedicated Sports stadium to the local youth
constructed by Rural Development Department. He also inspected the ongoing
macadamization of the Newa- Kakapora road and checked quality of substance
used. DDC stressed the concerned agency for the use of quality material, so
that roads will be remain durable.
DDC also visits Banderpora-Kakapora and laid foundation of construction
of concrete irrigation channel measuring 1.5km in length, through which
hundreds of kanals in villages Banderpora, Lelhar and adjacent areas will get
irrigation facility.
Later, the DDC dedicated the bridge along with approach road to public
nearBadiKhul, Hanji Mohalla Bargam Tral constructed by Rural Development
Department.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the District administration has duty
to redress the issues of the people and it has adopted a holistic approach to
streamline water supply, Better Road connectivity and irrigation facility in
the in rural areas of the District. He said all left out or pending projects in
the district will be completed in time bound manner and will be dedicated to
the people at earliest.
On the occasion, locals praised the efforts of District administration
for their dedication in addressing the basic issues of the People.
