PULWAMA, AUGUST 1: District
Development Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar today held an
interactive session with newly elected members of Pulwama working Journalists
Association (PWJA) at DC office Complex Pulwama. A maximum number of local
journalists working with different media organizations participated in the
meeting.
During the
interaction, DDC Pulwama congratulated the newly elected body of PWJA and
said that media has a positive role in the betterment of society as
they highlight public grievances, social issues and various welfare
measures undertaken by the Government for the uplift of weaker and vulnerable
sections of the society.
Speaking on the
occasion, District Information Officer Dr Mohammad Zubair appreciated the
efforts of media both print and electronic for their collective work in
highlighting the various issues of public importance. He said that the
objective of holding such sessions is to bridge the gap between media and
administration.
On the occasion, media persons raised different issues including
land identification for setting up a Press Club in the district. The DDC said
that process for identifying suitable land for the press club will be
intensified and assured them that all their demands will be redressed on
priority and District administration will support media fraternity in all
aspects.
