AUGUST 07: District Development
Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, along with a team of District and Sectoral Officers,
today listened to public issues here at Surankote .

Mukhtar Ahmed, SDM Surankote Mohammad Rahsid Kohli, SDPO Riyaz Ahmed
,DPO Mazahar Hussain Kazmi, Executive engineers of PWD, PHE, PMGSY and I &
FC, CMO Mumtaz Hussain Bhatti, CEO Mushtaq Ahmad, Tehsildar Shahid Iqbal and
other senior officers of district and sub-divisional administration attended
the public meeting.
The
DC listened to the issues and problems of the people and assured that
the same will be projected to Government.
The
Local representatives raised developmental issues and other
grievances of their area and urged the administration for prompt redressal.
Issues raised mostly pertained to water and power supply, ration and cooking
gas supply, condition of roads including Harri mohalla-Bypass road , check post
road ,hospital-Mirza morh road and other important roads under PMGSY including
Pamrote to Lathoong, Fazalabad to Mahrote and Mandi-Fagla CRF road.
The
People also demanded improvement in the functioning of Surankote Municipal
Committee, education sector by posting subject
specialized teachers of Maths and Science and better infrastructure in schools.
For
promotion of agriculture, the locals sought establishment of Sabji
Mandi, repair of irrigation canals. They also demanded blacktopping of
Bafliaz-Surankote , Dundak Mandir-Mehrote roads and ration Depots in
far flung area and development of playground with sports facilities at
Surankote.
Responding
to the demands, the DC assured that all their grievances will be addressed and
genuine demands met in a time bound manner.
The
DDC called upon the public to participate in developmental process by active
participation in plan formulation and keeping a vigil on execution of works and
implementation of schemes. He also directed the officers to conduct extensive
field visits and finalize developmental plans in due consultation with public
so that benefits of the projects reach to real beneficiaries.
The DDC also informed the public that district
administration Poonch will conduct similar public meeting camps in far flung
areas of Surankote. He said the decision has been taken to maximize public
participation in Developmental Plan Formulation.
