Calls for organizing seminar on hypertension, diabetes
KARGIL, AUGUST 16: Deputy
Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development
Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Vikas Kundal Thursday stressed upon the
Health Department of district Kargil to organize female sterilisation programme
and seminar on Hypertension and Diabetes diseases at block level in the
district.
The instruction in this regard was given by the Deputy Commissioner in a
meeting convened to review and discuss various issues of District Health
Society under National Health Mission (NHM) here today.
The meeting discussed physical and financial progress of 1st Quarter
2018-19, centrally sponsored schemes, review of infant-maternal death, MR
vaccine campaign, National De-worming Day reports from the block, vacancy
position under various schemes and HBNC kit for ASHAs out of bank interest at
the rate of Rs 6 lakh.
Taking stock of the facilities of blood banks in health institutions of
the district, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned to install blood bank
at the health centres of Sankoo and Drass immediately.
A detailed discussion was also held on National Programme for Control of
Blindness and the DC directed the Chief Education Officer Kargil to prepare
schedules for conducting of eye checkups of students in all government as well
as private schools.
Physical status of Leprosy Control programme was also discussed. While
discussing the child delivery cases, the DC asked all the Block Medical
Officers to furnish a report regarding stillbirths with details of the cause of
death, low birth weight and lack of nutrition of their mother. The Deputy
Commissioner also called for close coordination between ICDS, Social Welfare
and health departments.
The meeting also briefed about the Nursing Training School and it was
informed that an amount of Rs 5 crore has been incurred on the project and the
building is nearing completion. The Deputy Commissioner asked the executing
agency J&K Housing to speed up the pace of work on the building and
complete it within the stipulated time.
Giving details of the progress and the activities of the department, the
Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Ibrahim Hussain informed the meeting through
power presentation that under RNTCP during the 1st Quarter
2018-2019. It was also informed in the meeting that Rs 30.46 lakh was incurred
during 2017-2018 under RNTCP.
It was informed that under RCH Flexi Pool, an amount of Rs 6.62 lakh
were incurred under JSY, Rs 1.60 under JSSK and Rs 7.59 under programme
Management Unit during the 1st quarter 2018-19 while as Rs
2.65 lakh was incurred on ASHAs incentives, Rs 111 lakhs on human resources.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer, Kargil,
MohdMussa, Assistant Director Information, Abdul Ahad Bhat, all Block Medical
Officers, District Programme Manager, District Social Welfare Officer and other
concerned para-medical staff.
