PULWAMA, AUGUST 07: District
Social Welfare Office Pulwama today organized a programme for distribution of
motorized tricycle among specially-abled beneficiaries here at DC office
complex Pulwama under the scheme of State Rehabilitation Council J&K.
On the occasion, 14
motorized tricycles were distributed among various specially-abled persons from
various constituencies of the district by DDC Pulwama Ghulam Mohammed Dar.
The programme was
attended by officials of the Social Welfare Department, district Officers,
beneficiaries and respectable citizens.
Speaking on the
occasion DDC said that the distribution of these motorized tricycles is to
empower specially– abled persons. He also added that more such
distribution programmes are in pipeline and department will facilitate the
left-out applicants soon. DDC added that specially-abled persons/child deserve equal
care as any other persons/children for their growth and development. He further
said that efforts are afoot to provide opportunities and proper facilities to
specially-abled persons/children to empower them so they realize their dreams
and aspirations.
DDC said that all stakeholders have to work together to provide a
conducive atmosphere for these special persons. DDC stressed upon the need to
facilitate the differently-abled persons by way of education, empowerment and
to aid so that they can excel in different fields of life.
