SHOPIAN, JULY 31: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Owais Ahmed,
today chaired a District Health Society meeting here to monitor the
preparedness for Measles-Rubella vaccine and National-de-worming day campaign
for the district.
The meeting was
attended by members of the Task Force Committee including Executive Engineer PHE, Chief Medical
Officer, District Immunization Officer, Chief Education Officer, Social
Welfare Officer, Block Medical Officers, CDPOs, Medical Superintendent DH
Shopian and other field functionaries.
The DDC directed
the officers of line-departments to ensure the coverage of children in the age
group of nine months to 15 years under the vaccine campaign which is being
launched on September 1, 2018.
He also directed
the CEO Shopian to submit the list of enrolled students of Government and
private educational institutions to CMO Shopian so that the targeted
measles-rubella vaccine can be procured by the health department.
The DDC also reviewed the National de-worming day preparedness which
will be held on August 10, 2018. The meeting was informed that the
objective of the Day is to de-worm all pre-school and school-age children
between the ages of 1-19 years through the platform of schools and Anganwadi
centres in order to improve their overall health, nutritional status, access to
education and quality of life.
