DC calls for spreading financial
literacy
JAMMU JUNE 28: Deputy
Commissioner Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan today chaired the meeting of District
Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Consultative Committee.
The meeting was attended by Lead District Manager (LDM),
SBI , Bhupinder Singh , Chief Planning Officer, B L Sharma , AGM RBI, Vikram
, DDM NABARD , Aman Kalsotra , Prof Dipankar Sen Gupta besides
senior functionaries of the concerned Banks and departments.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on CD
ratios of the banks, identification of beneficiaries, KCC loan cases, flow of
credit, steps taken to realize doubling of farmers’ income by 2022, assistance
under Government sponsored schemes, SME financing, progress under SHG-Bank
linkage, performances of banks under District Credit Plan (DCP), achievements
of SBI RSETI, monitoring initiatives, Credit Plus activities, setting up of
Financial Literacy Centres (FLCs) and many alike.
Stressing on spreading financial literacy among the
masses, the DC instructed the banks to prepare calendar for awareness camps and
directed the concerned departments to install informative stalls regarding
benefits of various welfare schemes.
The DC asked the Banks and the concerned departments to
motivate and identify maximum number of potential beneficiaries under centrally
sponsored schemes such as MUDRA, PMJJBY, PMSBY and many more.
The DC directed the banks to submit the branch wise
report of rejected loan cases with reasons for rejection. He further asked them
to sort out KCC loan cases. He asked the banks to intimate concerned agencies
and departments before rejecting the loan cases.
The DC directed the banks to submit block and category
wise CD ratio report and take necessary action against the branches with low CD
ratio. He asked the agriculture department to identify entrants who can
establish the fodder banks.
