KULGAM, JUNE 28: District Development Commissioner Kulgam Sajad Hussain today chaired Priority Sector Lending & Preparation of Potential Linked plan meeting ( PLP) 2019-20 here in his office chamber today. The meeting was organised by NABARD in collaboration with Lead bank manager Kulgam.
Speaking on the occasion the DDBM apprised the DDC that NABARD has projected an amount of Rs 938 Cr for the financial year 2019-20 in potential linked areas of priority sector including agriculture and allied sectors. He said government is trying to create a parallel source of funding mechanism for farmers in order to double their income by 2022. He requested the line departments to encourage collective farming for creating farm producing organization in the district.
DDC directed the officers of line departments and bankers to organize a mass awareness campaign for motivating progressive farmers to avail term loans for getting better returns. The projections depicted in PLP are based on some realistic data  of priority sectors of  agriculture, horticulture, manufacturing and service areas of the district. DDC sought suggestions and modifications in PLP  from the officers of line departments to make it farmer convinent so  that potential identified in PLP would be realised.
The meeting was attended by DM NABARD,LBM, District Officers of line departments including agriculture, horticulture, animal & sheep husbandry, KVIB,DIC, Handicrafts, Urban Development, Handloom, Fisheries, NRLM, & bankers of different branches.
