Chandigarh, May 11: The Punjab Cultural Society (Regd.) has decided to organise 'Maharaja Ranjit Singh Bhangra World Cup' in order to further popularise the folk dance Bhangra.
Disclosing this, President of Punjab Cultural Society Ravinder Singh Ranguwal said the mega event would be held in the first week of November this year in Ludhiana and would be dedicated to the 'Punjab Diwas'.
Divulging more, Mr Ranguwal said there are many people engaged in various vocations who are still devoted to bhangra and this extravaganza would give them a chance to come together on a single platform.
This mega event would be of international standards and besides India the teams from Canada, the US, England, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand would be invited to participate in the event.
Mr Ranguwal also elaborated that eminent personalities from cultural sphere of Punjab would be associated with the event to accord it a grand look. It is worth mentioning that Punjab Cultural Society is actively involved in the propagation of Punjabi cultural values as well as art forms worldwide. UNI
