BARAMULLA, MAY
12: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Rafiabad Yawar Dilawar Mir
today conducted an extensive tour of his constituency to assess damage to crops
and other agricultural produce due to hailstorm.
The MLA was
accompanied by District Development Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad
Naqash, officers of Horticulture, Agriculture, Revenue and other allied sectors
besides representatives of other departments.
On the occasion,
the DDC briefed the MLA that several teams have already been constituted for
the purpose during which it was given out that about 90% of the crops have been
damaged by the hailstorm.
Meanwhile, MLA
met various deputations who appraised him about the situation of their crops.
The MLA assured them that proper compensation will be provided to the affected
families adding that he will take up the matter of exemption of KCC loans with
the higher authorities. He also directs the concerned to provide a detailed
report by assessing the losses.
Later the MLA inaugurated the recently upgraded Government Higher
Secondary School Khahmoh Rafiabad wherein he announced Rs 5 lakh out of his
constituency development fund for the upgradation of computer lab of the
institute.
