JAMMU,
MAY 18: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat
today laid the foundation of two link roads from Mantalai to Ghomshadu and
Barkunda to Kharwa in Chenani Constituency.
The 10
kilometer and 5.8 kilometers link roads would be constructed under PMGSY at an
estimated cost of Rs 5.94 crore and 2.49 crore respectively. The roads would
provide connectivity to over dozens of villages of the area.
Speaking
on the occasion, the MLA said that the Government is committed to strengthen
road connectivity in rural areas, besides regular power and water supply for
the convenience of people.
Hailing
the State and Union Governments for sanctioning adequate funds under PMGSY and
other schemes for construction of roads in Chenani Constituency, Mr. Bhagat
said it is his mission to provide road connectivity to those areas of
Constituency which are still without road links. He said that the
process of identification of areas without road links has been initiated and
work on such roads would be started soon.
After
hearing the demands of locals with regards to developmental needs, the MLA said
that their demands would be addressed on priority.
