Aurangabad, Maharashtra, May 11: Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) has sanctioned Rs 20.69 crore for the 48 km long water pipeline project to take water from Jayakwadi Dam to Bordhegaon Medium Project to supply water to thirsty Lasur Station, among 13 villages, in the district.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday evening, Gangapur BJP MLA Prashant Bamb said since long time those villages were getting water through water tankers at least eight months in a year and the administration was spending Rs three crore for per year.
Pipeline from Bordhegaon to Lasur Station already ready was ready and after the new scheme, all the villages having 75,000 population would get water on permanent basis, he said.
Mr Bamb said, 'A team of experts had visited the villages and after my continuous follow up with MJP and finance department, the fund has been sanctioned.
Tenders would be issued soon and the project would start shotrly, he said. UNI
