Hyderabad, May 4: Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Jairam Gadkari will lay
the foundation stone for the flyovers at Uppal and Amberpet here on Saturday.
To ease traffic flow in the city, the 1.6-km flyover at Amberpet will be taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in association with the Roads and Buildings Department.
The project to be constructed at a cost of Rs 467.55 crore will have Central government share of Rs 226.88 crore while the rest will be borne by the Telangana government.
However, the Uppal flyover will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,395 crore and in which the Central government will provide Rs 626.76 crore while the remaining share (Rs 768.26 crore), is from the State government.
The two projects had been cleared by the Central government earlier after several requests was made by the state government. UNI
