RAMBAN, MAY 10: District Health
Society (DHS) in collaboration with Education and ICDS organized a mega health
and screening camp under Rashtriya Bal SawasthyaKaryakram (RBSK) at Doligam,
here today.
The camp was
inaugurated by MLA Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani in the presence
of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Tariq Hussain Ganai and
CMO, Dr Saif-ud-Din Khan.
Speaking on the
occasion, the legislator said that the health department should provide
preventive and curative medical facilities to the patients at right time to
curb deficiency diseases and disabilities caused due to developmental delays,
which is the prime objective of the programme.
During the
programme, the DDC directed concerned to work in tandem to spread awareness
among participants regarding health-related problems, especially natal and
developmental delays and disabilities.
He said that
people should take benefit from the various health programmes and avail medical
care facilities from nearby health centres.
During the camp,
more than 1000 children were screened for vision, hearing, neuro-motor
impairment, motor delay, cognitive delay, language delay, behavior disorder
(autism) and learning disorder for free and the children suffering with minor
health problems were given free medicines like de-worming tablets, age
appropriate Vitamins doses
The
children were also familiarized with hand washing method, general hygiene and
menstrual hygiene.
Among others, SDM
Banihal, Zaheer Abass Dy. CMO Dr. Iqbal Bhat, Tehsildar Banihal,
Shafiq-ur-Rehman Wani, BDO, ZEO, BMO, RBSK doctors, RBSK
teams, paramedical staff were present in the camp.
