DC Kargil reviews progress of BADP works

KARGIL, MAY 12: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting here to review the physical and financial progress of the development works under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in the district.

The DC inquired about the physical status of the ongoing works, number of schemes completed during 2017-18 as well the headway achieved, so far, on the works under progress.   

Thorough discussions were held on the proposed Annual Action Plan for the current financial year 2018-19.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to make all-out efforts to ensure satisfactory provision of basic amenities to the people of the border areas and to gear up their men and machinery for completing the works well within the stipulated time.

He also directed the officers to keep a check on the quality of works so as to create sustainable assets in the border villages for benefit of the people.  He said that the disputes with regard to the execution of works should be promptly brought to the notice of the administration so that they are resolved at earliest.

The works proposed during the current financial year include the construction of link roads, footpaths, provision of drinking water supply, construction of PHC buildings, electricity, capacity building and skill development, construction of toilets particularly for ladies, construction of schools and playfields.
