SRINAGAR, MAY 18: Additional
Commissioner Kashmir (ACK) Dr Abdul Salaam Mir today convened a meeting to
review monitoring and evaluation of "Self Help Group of Engineers
Scheme" in the valley.
The
Commissioner had a detailed review of the implementation of guidelines for Self
Help Group of Engineers Scheme across the Kashmir Division.
The
meeting was informed that 30% of construction works in government agencies were
allotted to Self Help Group of Engineers. Total 893 different construction
works worth Rs 83.06 crores had been allotted to 445 such groups
registered in different Employment Exchange Departments up to March 31, 2018.
The
Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned to ensure that the scheme meets its
objectives in all respects and ensure strict monitoring so that allotted
construction works will be executed only by Self Help Group of Engineers.
He
asked all concerned officers to identify the works being conducted through
their department in district-wise and send the complete report to his office
immediately.
Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, VC SDA, Joint Commissioner SMC,
Chief Engineers of R&B & I&FC, Superintending Engineers of R&B
& Hydraulic, Executive Engineer PDD, Joint Director Employment Exchange, Deputy
Director Planning besides nominated representatives of Self Help Groups and
other concerned officers attended the meeting.
