Lucknow, Apr 13: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday defended his government's act in the Unnao rape case incident and said it was the work of the state police that led to be arrest of accused MLA Kudeep Singh Senger.
"Investigation has been handed over to the CBI. I believe the CBI would arrest the MLA also. Our government will not compromise on this, no matter how influential the accused is, he will not be spared," the CM said in his reaction on the CBI's action.
The Chief Minister said already several policemen and the doctors have been taken task off and they have been put on suspension in the case.
"The Special Investigation Team(SIT) too have done a good work and on its recommendation FIR was registered against the MLA and others," he said.
The reaction of Mr Adityanath came after the CBI arrested Sengar from his Lucknow residence on Friday morning and is set to produce him before the court later in the day. 
Meanwhile, a five-member CBI team was in Unnao on Friday to talk to the family members of the victim, who are put on in a city hotel. The CBI team is also slated to visit Makhi village and interrogate the policemen of the and other officials including those suspended by the government. UNI
