Allahabad, Apr 11: In a major embarrassment for the Uttar Pradesh government, the Allahabad High
Court on Wednesday took suo motu notice in the Unnao gangrape case in which BJP
MLA Kuldeep Singh Senger is prime accused and sought a report from the Yogi
Adityanath government on Thursday.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice D B Bhosle, took cognizance
of a letter of the victim and issued these directives.
Justice Bhosle directed the state advocate general or additional Advocate General to be present personally during the hearing tomorrow along with the report.
The High Court also directed to preserve the body of the deceased father of the rape victim if it was not cremated so far. UNI
