Bhagalpur, Apr 03: A local court today rejected regular bail petition of union minister Ashwani
Choubey's son Arjit Shashwat, facing accusation of fomenting communal trouble
by taking out Ramnavami procession without permission at Nathnagar in the
district recently.

Srivastava rejected the bail petition of Mr Shashwat after hearing arguments of
both sides. Mr Shashwat had filed bail petition yesterday.
A local court had remanded union minister Arjit Shashwat to judicial custody for 14 days.
Mr Shashwat, against whom an arrest warrant was issued, had surrendered before police in the state capital late night on Saturday.
Earlier, Bhagalpur district and sessions judge (In charge) Kumud Ranjan Singh had rejected Mr Shashwat`s anticipatory bail petition on Saturday.
Mr Shashwat was named along with eight others, in an FIR lodged in connection with a clash under Nathnagar police station area of Bhagalpur district on March 17.
Violence had erupted after people belonging to a particular community objected to loud music being played during the procession which was being allegedly led by Mr Shashwat. UNI
