New Delhi, Apr 2: The newly-elected BJP lawmaker from Karnataka Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday announced his resignation as a board director of ARG Outlier Asianet News Private Limited, 
which runs news channel Republic TV.
'Since I am a member of BJP, I believe it is in the best interest of Republic TV's brand and team that I no longer serve on the board,' he said in statement here.
Mr Chandrasekhar, who was earlier an Independent Member of Parliament since 2006 , said his resignation from the media company's board would come into effect from March 31, 2018.
'In my career, as a investor and entrepreneur I have had the privilege of investing and building several successful companies and brands. This mediatech investment in Republic ranks high amongst my many investments,' he said.
He also wished Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and the Republic TV team 'continued success and growth'. UNI
