Patna, Apr 02: Bhim Army sponsored Bharat Bandh against changes in the SC/ST (Prevention of
Atrocities) Act disrupted railway and road traffic in Bihar today.
Bharat Bandh is being supported by the main opposition party
RJD, CPI, RLSP (Arun fation) and MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav led Jan
Adhikar Party.
Essential services like ambulance have been kept outside the purview of agitation.
Mr Yadav along with his supporters carrying out placards marched to Dakbunglow roundabout in the state capital protesting against changes in the act.
Bandh protagonists disrupted movement of several long distance and passenger trains by squatting on tracks in Ara, Darbhanga and other places. They also blocked several major roads across the state to express their anguish over changes in the act.
Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangement had been made in view of agitation.
Additional police personnel had been deployed at prominent roundabouts in the state capital. Railway police superintendents had also been given necessary directions to meet any exigency that might arise during the agitation. UNI
