UDHAMPUR, APRIL 14  MLA, Ramnagar, Ranbir Singh Pathania inaugurated the Baisakhi festival being organized by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with Mansar-Surinsar Development Authority at the picturesque locale of Mansar lake.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the core essence of such festivals is the cultural and traditional values that have been passed from one generation to the other very amicably. He urged for keeping these traditions alive for the present and future generations by presenting them as source of entertainment to them. He informed that the festival would be made an annual feature for the tourists in Mansar.
During the festival, the artists from J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presented variety of cultural items depicting rich folk fore, cultural heritage and varied beauty of the region that left the audience spellbound.
Earlier, the MLA inaugurated exhibition stalls put up by various government departments at Mansar. While inspecting the stalls, he asked the departments to organize such exhibitions in other far-off areas for the welfare of the rural people.
Chief Executive Officer, Mansar-Surinsar Development Authority Arvind Kotwal and other officers were present on the occasion.
