New Delhi, Apr 16: Reacting to reports on the proposal by the information and broadcasting
ministry to install chips in set top boxes to conduct surveillance on the
television programmes watched by consumers, the Congress on Monday charged the
Government of violating the privacy of the individual.
In a post on social media, AICC media incharge
Randeep Surjewala said,'BREAKING! The Next Stage of Surveillance by BJP
Revealed! In a serious breach of privacy, Smriti Iraniji wants to know what
show you watch on your TV, within the four walls of your bedroom, without your permission!
Why? अबकी बार Surveillance सरकार, निजता
का हक़ कर तार-तार (violating the right to privacy of the
individual) .'
