New Delhi, Apr 2: The Question Hour in Lok Sabha was a washout on Monday yet again as the House
had to be adjourned till 1200 hrs over the continuous uproar caused by AIADMK
members over the Cauvery Water issue.
As soon as the House assembled for the day after long weekend
and Good Friday break, the AIADMK members trooped into the Well raising slogans
and ventilating their demand for immediate setting up of Cauvery Water
Management Board.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan started with the listed questions and a question pertaining to the Ministry of Human Resource Development Ministry was named. But as the agitating AIADMK members raised slogans and continued to create ruckus, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House till noon.
AIADMK raised slogans, "we want justice" and "we want Cauvery Board'.
As the first listed question was being taken up, Congress and RJD members were heard making attempts to raise the issues pertaining to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Among others, Congress floor leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Kantilal Bhuria and Ninong Ering were up on their feet, but nothing could be heard in the din.
RJD member Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav was also trying to make his point in the bedlam.
But as there was no improvement in the situation, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.
Both the Houses of Parliament have failed to transact any major business since the beginning of the second part of the Budget session of Parliament on March 5. UNI
