Srinagar, Apr 3: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has appealed to everyone to
shed differences and come together to think of new ways to reach out to the
youth and find sustainable solution to end the dreadful cycle of violence that
is consuming them (youth) endlessly.
She said killing of youth breaks her heart so we should leave
aside our accusations and put our heads together so save these young ones.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, Ms Mehbooba said “ The violence from yesterday is a grim reminder of the fact that at times like these we must shed our differences & come together to think of new ways to reach out to the youth & find sustainable solutions to end the dreadful cycle of violence that is consuming them endlessly”.
She further tweeted that “ Every day it breaks my heart to see a wailing mother beckoning her son to return. So can we leave aside our accusations & counter accusations, put our heads together to save these young ones”.
She was referring to Sunday encounters at three places and subsequent protests in south Kashmir that left 13 militants killed and four soldiers martyred besides four civilian dead and over 40 injured.
Former Chief Minister and working president of the National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah has criticized Ms Mehbooba for staying in New Delhi when these killings took place in Kashmir. UNI
