Panaji, Apr 3: Minister for Housing, Rural Development and Ports Jayesh Salgaonkar commenced
the work of improvement and hot-mixing of various roads in Ward no VI in
Village Panchayat Reis-magos, Verem, on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Salgaonkar said series of
development works had been taken up in Saligao constituency and this was part
of second phase of the ongoing works.
The present works, he said, were taken up in the areas such as Aditya Vihar colony, SRS colony, Vidya Enclave, Swami Samarth colony, Bamboo Motels area, include hot-mixing of roads, road widening wherever possible, repairs and reconstructing of drainages.
Desilting of 'nulla' in the area was not done for quite some time which would be taken up now. The works were being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 1.17 crore.
Deputy Sarpanch Siya Nagvekar, Ward Member Virendra Shirodkar and others were present. Ms Nagvekar also spoke on the occasion. UNI
