ANANTNAG, APRIL 14: On the birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar, the
District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik launched an
outreach campaign Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) from Primary Health
Centre Mattan Anantnag today.
The DDC was accompanied by ADC Anantnag, Tehsildar
Mattan, BDO Mattan and BMO Medical Block Mattan.
On the occasion, the DDC said that presently State
and Centrally sponsored schemes and programmes are being run in the district so
that the general public is benefitted from them.
He said that RGSA will speed up the overall
developmental growth in the rural areas of the district and the field
functionaries like ASHAs, ANMs, Aanganwadis and other concerned can play a
vital role in bringing the benefits of such schemes to the doorsteps of the
rural folk.
The DDC stressed for proper nutrition and healthcare
of the newborns so that a healthy society is built.
The campaign will continue until May 5,
he added.
Later, the DDC also distributed visual aids
(eyeglasses) among 20 children.
He also visited Sub Centre Akura to take stock of
the awareness being provided to the public regarding the RGSA.
Similar functions were held in Dak Bungalow
Anantnag and PHC Larnu also.
