| Appreciate cultural programme by Info Deptt |
UDHAMPUR, APRIL 14 – The
district administration organized a cultural programme on the second day of
historic Devika Baisakhi Mela being celebrated on the banks of holy rivulet in
Udhampur.
The Department of Information and Public Relations,
DIC Udhampur in collaboration with Bureau of Outreach Communication, Ministry
of Information and Broadcasting presented scintillating cultural performances
which were highly appreciated by the audience.
A large number of people hailing from different
sections of the society witnessed the cultural bonanza and got acquainted with
Dogri music, folk dance, customs and social evils. The artists created
awareness among the people about Swachh Bharat Mission, ‘Beti
Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and gave a strong message for discouraging open
defecation.
Thousands from within and outside the district
thronged Baisakhi Mela and took holy dip in the pious Devika Ghat.
The programme was attended by Mela Officer,
Udhampur Ved Parkash, Naib Tehsildar, Ashok Kumar Gupta, Zonal Physical
Education Officer, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Programme Head Bureau of outreach
Communication Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India,
J&K and officers of information Department.
